Note also if it's a Pioneer or other third party company issue, Apple isn't going to break iOS to make it compatible with their products.

so please tell me it’s my car again when all and every sign points to the phones software.
This actually makes a lot of sense.
Streaming relies upon a constant solid data connection which is the opposite of what a mobile data connection is.
If the next block of data for your song comes in a few milliseconds too late for smooth playback, what is the audio codec supposed to do?
Yet if the playback software buffers too much to avoid this, you’re left waiting for seconds before your song starts playing.
Perhaps their audio player needs to put up a spinning “buffering” cursor like you get on YouTube whenever this occurs.

Exactly the same happened to me. The support article does not help with anything.
With ios13.6 it was perfect.
The bug got introduced in ios 14 and carried on till the GM and then the public release. Definitely needs to be fixed.
It does not matter if I connect my phone on wireless or wired carplay, seems the buffer is too small and the bandwidth of data transfer is limited.
The support article does not help with anything. I tired everything but nothing happens
So many issue i'm facing at the moment with Ios 14 but with iOs 13.6 it was perfect.
Bluetooth working only apple car play having this issue.
This bug got introduced in iOs 14, apple should provide a good fix for this issue.
Same problem with my iPhone se2, I’m running the latest iOS version and the crackling sound remains after 5 minutes of music or any other audio, today I restore my iPhone and it didn’t work either, please Apple escalate this issue to include a fix in the next update
Hello,
The same happened to me. I tried everything that came to my mind. Resetting my settings. Deleting my device/car from each other to connect it new.
But these crackling sounds come back every time. So CarPlay is really not usable for me anymore.
I Hope this gets fixed soon, as I am driving everyday.
Even with the lastest update, the crackling sounds after 2-3 minutes is still happening. Shouldn’t Apple give a little more attention to this feature? The error is massive! It’s so annoying. Please fix. (I have an iphone 11 pro and a ford model 2020).
I finally got this resolved at the dealer! Turned out to be a set of bad USB ports on my car. GM even changed out the radio in hopes of fixing it that way. The USB port replacement put an end to the problems for me.
Agreed. Same issue on my iPhone 12 with CarPlay on an Alpine iLX650E. Phone calls are really soft so I’ve got to crank up the volume and then the crackling sound competes with the callers voice. Apple needs to address this.
2019 Chev Cruze, factory radio, same issue since IOS14 and have been waiting for the fix for every update they have made.
Incase Apple asks, yes my cord is apple and yes my radio is updated as i work at a dealership.
Iphone Xr here, but i hear that the New Samsung works perfectly....
