trying to create new @me.com email alias.

Online directions refer to a Preferences dropdown window in iCloud.com Mail Settings, but there is NO Preference dropdown. Please help. This should be so easy.

Email Alias I'm looking for specific help on explaining to me how to get an email alias for my iCloud account? Now please don’t try and explain the entire Set up or copy and past the link or actual paragraph from apple that informs me and the rest of the world how to do it. I’ve been trying for a couple days and i must have a setting on my phone or something thats causing me to miss over it but all i need help with is actually just getting to the initial actions bar to press on my preferences. I understand how simple this should be but ive been at this all day looking over everything from all settings across the board and no luck. How can I change the ‘From’ Email Address for all emails. I am using the standard Apple Mail App. I want to change the From Email address on emails that I send. It is currently set to: name@me.com and I want to change it to name@icloud.com. I can change it for an individual email by selecting From on the email and then select name@icloud.com from the dropdown list but I want to change it for all outgoing emails. I have read that there should be a ‘default account’ setting on my email App setup but that is not available.

iCloud email alias setup paradox I am having a problem with iCloud Mail. In my iPhone Settings, it says I have an iCloud email address already, which appears to be accurate - I can send and receive from it in the Mail app on my phone. However, I want to create an alias email so I can use my name and not my handle. To do this I have to log into iCloud in Safari and click on Mail. I don’t have a Mail option on this page, and according to the support file, this means I DON’T have an iCloud email and I have to create one - and the only way to do this is to go through Settings on my iPhone. Which I can’t do because I already have an iCloud email set up. What am I doing wrong?

At iCloud.com > Mail > gear icon (bottom left) > Preferences.
