Where can I get a female Mac to a male USB adapter

I have a mac external hard drive and I need to use it on an iMac with only USB ports on it. Where can I get such an adapter? female Mac (not sure what you call the end) to a Male USP adapter.

You are trying to go from Male USB-C to female USB-A, so you need a Female USB-C to Male USB-A adapter. Here's one Amazon product: USB C Female to USB Male Adapter (4-Pack),USB Type C to USB A. There are many others I found. Too many to post.

I have a external hardrive I use for my Macbook pro. I think it is a usbc male end that inserts directly into my laptop. HOWEVER, I need plug that external hardrive into my iMac which only has USB and thunderbolt ports (Late 2014) not the newer Mac connectors. What do I need to look for? Is it a USB-C female to a maleUSB adapter? Picture is upside down.
