WiFi Hotspot keeps disconnecting - iPhone 11 pro (ios14)

What is the solution to this problem. It is the same for me-ever since I got ios14.4 my hotspot keeps disconnecting from my laptop. This is very disruptive for my college work and lectures

It is really annoying from apple, devices keep disconnecting over hotspot. Need to go repeatedly to setting to connect again.

It happened to my iPhone 7 battery capacity is at 75% now due to leaving screen on for hotspot

The option to set Autolock to "Never" is not available on some phones, reputedly due to other settings. So, this is not an option for many of us. The only other option is Buy Android.

still happening to me too. updated to 14.7 hoping it would resolve the problem but it's no better.

I swear if I can go back and return my iPad Air I would. This is ridiculous. I bought an iPad Air with LTE to use for work when I am traveling - and this thing keeps disconnecting my hotspot. I wish I bought the Galaxy Tab 7, but those idiots were not selling an unlocked LTE version....

Same problem here - most annoying. I tried resetting Network Settings with default to iPhone network name but a week on and the disconnects are so random often within a few seconds of each other.. iPhone no longer connects to other peripheral devices by Wifi which were OK under IOS13. Tried SIM in my old S7 Android and works perfectly with no disconnects...Come on Apple get this fixed as people need solid tethering to keep their lives and businesses on track during this Pandemic. This equipment is no toy considering the prices you charge!

Thanks buddy. I updated the device to 14.2, reset the network settings and the tethering is working without additional problems for now. Well, as a new iphone user, getting used to factors like, cannot move the phone as far away from the devices connected like the previous Android device etc.

I am having same problem from last one year with IPhone XR on iOS 13 and 14. Few observations from my end. After connecting to hotspot if I pick up or make phone call hotspot gets disconnected. Same happens if I browse web or app on iPhone for sometime with hotspot on. Another problem is with my Apple Watch. Whenever I go out of range of my iPhone with Apple Watch on hand with hotspot on it gets disconnected. If I leave both my Apple Watch and iPhone near my laptop hotspot stays on until I get some phone call. No solution till now for me.

That's not correct. There's no "(Sett>Reset>Netw)", I lost almost 20 minutes searching for that.

You have to go to Settings, THEN "General", THEN "Reset", THEN choose "Reset network settings".

I hope this can avoid other users waste time searching the correct way to reset it. :)

i know this is going to sound crazy, but shutting off Bluetooth fixed the issue for me. Unfortunately i can’t use my AirPods and apple pen anymore. I wish I bought that galaxy tab....

Yes, on you iPhone. I’m also having the same issue on my iPad Air (LTE) when I try using it as a hotspot.

This is really sad - can anyone from Apple acknowledge the problem? Is there a fix in the works? This is an issue on both iPhone and iPads...
