So i’ve had my phone for half a year now. When i first used the phone I used her ID. When I added my own ID, I deleted all the contacts on my phone (big mistake) and all of hers were gone. I’ve disabled contacts on icloud and but they still keep sharing. How do I fix this? Should I just make a different account?
If you are using the same Apple ID, your data will be shared. If you don't want it shared, create your own Apple ID.
When changing to the new ID, there may be some data loss, but you can minimize it. If syncing photos with iCloud, ensure Optimization is turned off in Settings/Your Name/iCloud/Photos and/or in Photos/Preferences/iCloud. Then make sure full resolution photos are on the device/computer. When signing out of iCloud, if asked whether you want to retain data, choose yes. Messages conversations will be lost if they are addressed to the ID. See the article below for other places that the old ID should be removed. I already made my own ID a while ago. The problem was that the data would still be syncing although we were using separate accounts. Thank you for the response.
