Adding Google Account on iOS 14 Broken

We appreciate you sending these additional details over to us. If you try to sign into a Google website using Safari outside of a private browsing window, does the website load, or no? If it doesn't, are you able to test the behavior on another network?

My google account is also hanging on page. I can not add account back to my settings on iphoneX. I get to put in email and it just hangs there I can’t put in password on 14.0.1. I’m having a problem on iPhone only signing into google. Not on my iPad only iPhone.

I'm also having the same issue. I log in and see the "Mail, Calendars, etc" for a second but then it goes back to Add Account screen.

Tried disabling all Safari experimental features and that didn't work.

If so, let's make sure your iPhone has the most recent iOS version installed, and then attempt to set up the account again.

Found the solution. Go into “experimental settings” safari settings. Turn everything off.... then go back and you can get your email added. Once you added all your emails, go back and turn all the experimental features back on. Not sure which one causes the glitch, but when they are all off, you can add it.

I’m stuck in the same infinite loop. I finally realized this morning that IOS is going to “accounts.Google.com” but Google uses “myaccount.Google.com”.

I still have found a way to get it to go to the correct Google login site.

Do you have Google’s 2 factor authentication enabled? If you do and you don’t want to use the gmail app or other Google apps you need to create an application-specific password for Google accounts on your iPhone.

Unfortunately, it does not even make it past the username screen. I even tried turning 2 factor authentication off.

When entering accounts.Google manually the browser automatically redirects to myaccount.Google.

I should add that this works in Gmail and Chrome. It does not work in Safari nor mail accounts.

As all of our 5 Google accounts (including 2 g-suite and 3 gmail) and several Google apps are working on all four of my family’s iOS devices, and I have seen no other reports than yours, I sincerely doubt that that it is a bug, or if it is, a very obscure one.

Mine worked fine until I changed my Google password. No way to reconnect that account since then. My other Google accounts are still working fine. If you’re brave, change an account password and give it a shot. Be prepared to have to access that account with Google mail and lose all those unique contacts from your Apple contact list.

This did not impact MacBook. I was able to log right back in on mine.

seems to be unique to IOS 14. I’m running 14.0.1.

I even tried deleting and adding back the account both automatically and manually.

Still trying to crack it.

I’m still able to use any Google functionality that does not log on as part of IOS. Had to download Chrome to get some things working. Google mail still works. And everything still works on an old Galaxy 4 that I keep for occasions when Apple refuses to talk to a device - cameras, switches, etc.

Unfortunately, it didn’t work for me. Been through all of the above with no joy. Turned off every single ‘Experimental feature’, restarted phone a bunch of times & no different.

first noticed this after the upgrade. Mail.app stopped checking GMAIL - giving an error. In the end I removed the account, restarted and re-added it - but obviously here we are.

it authenticates in the GMAIL pop up OK, jumps to the screen where you see ‘Mail, Calendars etc’ but all are greyed out and then it crashes back to the ‘Add Account’ screen.

Probably because it isn’t an Apple problem, it’s a Google problem because Google is misusing a browser feature. This is a workaround, not a solution.
