Hi there,
Ever since updating to iOS 14 and iPadOS 14, the Apple News widget for the top stories of today, has just a black background. This is unlike the Topic version of the same widget which has a pictured background.
Just wondering if anyone else has this same issue and managed to resolve this? I am using an iPhone XR and iPad Pro 2020 and having the same issue with both devices.

This appears to be by design. When adding the News Widget, you can choose from seven (7) different Widget Styles - of which two have a black background, the remaining five having a white background.
Some of the new-style Widgets can be reconfigured from the Widget itself, whilst for others it is necessary to add a new/different Widget to your Home Screen.

Ah this is a shame if it is this way by design, during the beta testing all the way up to GM this widget had a pictured background to represent the article it links to, similar to the others which I felt was much more appealing.
