iCloud Sync Issues with Mac Desktop
Hi Folks,
First off, the kind folks at Apple are looking into this for me, however in the meantime I'm hoping some other users may of faced similar issues. If so I'm looking forward to hearing from you to try resolve the below issue.
If not I'm also open to suggestions in how to resolve it. I will also point out what has been carried out at my end to try and resolve the issue, without any luck.
The Issue
My MacBook perfectly syncs with email, messages, photos, notes etc from the iCloud. However for whatever reason, my MacBook has stopped syncing with the iCloud Drive Desktop and Documents, it will neither download nor upload when new files are added or removed.
Things I've tried (without any luck)
- Checked to see if iCloud Drive is turned on
- Checked to see if iCloud Desktop and Documents is turned on
- Turned off iCloud Drive and re-enabled
- Signed out of iCloud and back in after a full shut down and restart
- Created a new Mac profile and signed with my Apple ID
- Created a new Mac profile and signed with another Apple ID (this worked)
- Re -installed Mac Catalina keeping all files and documents
- Fully erased and format the hard drive and install Catalina from fresh
Also I've tried the following commands which force quits the synching to iCloud and restarts the process
- Killall bird
- Cd ~/Library/Application\ Support
- Rm - rf CloudDocs
One thing worth noting I have two MacBooks and an iPhone, one MacBook iCloud Desktop and Documents sync works perfectly fine and the other doesn't.
I can also confirm that iCloud Drive works perfectly well on my iPhone.
Any ideas?
Cheers
MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 10.15
