Xprotect service using high CPU

Hi, the xprotect service has been using a high CPU according to the activity monitor, actually its the highest one, and it's been causing my mac to heat up very quickly, I just force quit it from the activity monitor but it pops up again after I open it again after shutting it down, any recommendations?
