Orange dot even with no apps

So I know that the orange dot is supposed to alert you when an app is using your mic. The thing is the orange dot hasn’t gone away since I updated my phone and no apps are open. When I slide up to go to control center it just says “Phone”. Is something using it in the background or am I missing something? Thanks!

Hey there LukeMildenberger,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We understand the orange indicator is showing in the status bar of your iPhone but you’re not able to identify what app is using it. We’ll be happy to help.

If the orange indicator will not go away, you may want to force close the apps on your iPhone and then restart:

How to force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Restart your iPhone

If it still shows, open Settings > Privacy > Microphone and see what apps have access to your Mic. Turn them off one by one and see if the indicator goes away.

We hope this helps.

Take care.
