Apple Watch Brightness

Hello, I have the new Apple Watch Series 6. The screen gets plenty bright during the day or when a light is on. At night or in dim lighting I can’t see the screen at all due to cataracts and there’s no way to turn up the brightness. The are only 3 brightness settings but even on the highest the ambient light sensor still dims the screen beyond me being able to read it. Every other device I’ve ever used has let you turn up the brightness manually. What gives?

Greetings, Josh3472.

Congratulations on your new Apple Watch Series 6!

It appears that you're having a problem with your Apple Watch Series 6 display. It's way too dim to be seen well, and there isn't a way to turn up the brightness. We're glad to help with this.

Turn on and wake Apple Watch - Apple Support -- Scroll down to "Always On (Apple Watch Series 5 and Apple Watch Series 6 only)" in this article. Make sure that the Always On feature is on. If it is, turn it off and restart your Apple Watch: How to restart your Apple Watch - Apple Support. Once your watch is back up, turn on Always On again and test.

If it wasn't turned on, see if that setting keeps your Apple Watch from being too dim.

Unpair and erase your Apple Watch - Apple Support -- If the issue persists, unpair your Apple Watch from your iPhone. Once it's done, pair them again, but set up your Apple Watch as a new watch. Then and see if the display doesn't dim. If it's working as expected, unpair them one more time, then use the recent backup that was created to set up your Apple Watch again.

Let us know how that goes.

Take care.
