How do I delete files from icloud but not ipad?
I want to clear up space on iCloud but not delete the files from my iPad. I am not using iCloud for backup.

You move the files from iCloud to iPad, using the File app. You’ll see an entry for iCloud Drive, and one for On My iPad. Move the files from the former to the latter.
If you’re not using iCloud for backup, I’ll assume you’re using a local Mac or Windows system for iPad backup.
