Not able to add device to apple business manager

Hello,

since last week we are no longer able to add devices in the Apple Business Center. In the ABM the option has been hidden, what could be the reasons?

The licence agreements have been confirmed.

Greetings

Daniel

I am having the same experience with Apple School Manager. Our purchases are made by our purchasing department through the Apple Online Store. Previously, I would be able to go to Devices in the Manager and enter a device serial number or order number and the system would verify it as one of our purchases and add it. That option seems to be gone, and I can only browse or search existing devices in the Manager. It allows for searching by serial and order number, but our most recent purchase, from the beginning of September, is not in the system.

So you're ordering through your e-commerce portal but it's not in your ASM? It should just appear there. You shouldn't need to add it. If you're purchasing from the Apple Online Store (different than a school or business's e-commerce portal), You will need to use Apple Configurator 2 to enroll if it is an iOS/iPadOS/tvOS device. You cannot add it if it is a macOS device at this time.

I am having the same problem, we purchase computers through our authorized reseller and once they confirm the serial number on their end, I enter it manually for it to show up in Apple business manager. Then it syncs automatically with our MDM server. Now that I can't add it manually, it doesn't sync with our MDM server so I can't manage the computer remotely...This is a big problem if they took the manual option away, I'm at a loss.

We have a mixture of DEP and non-DEP devices split across two different MDM servers, as we are migrating to Intune. All the DEP devices have been migrated to Intune MDM. We now need to move the non-DEP devices to Intune, but cannot manually add the serial numbers into DEP, as the option is no longer available. I can confirm that the new licences for IOS 14 (released on 16.09.2020) have been agreed to in our ABM, but not until 21.09.2020. Would this time delay have removed the option to add device serial numbers , even though it has been agreed to?

How do I get 'Device Assignments' reactivated in my ABM to add device serial numbers?

@celliott147 - Thank you for your response, but it does not address the part of my question relating to non-DEP purchased devices devices that we now wish to add to our ABM.

We have acknowledged the new IOS 14 licence agreement issued on 16/09/20, albeit on 21/09/20. This delay appears to have removed the ability to assign devices manually to our ABM and MDM server. Even though the licence has been agreed to it has not reset out facility to add serial numbers to our ABM manually.

How do I get this reset by Apple? Who do I need to contact without going through the end user telephone queue?
