how tight should my watchband be?

Just got a new Apple Watch 6. Incredible. I'm used to wearing a looser watch, but want to be sure that I've got it tight enough to be accurate with heart rate and other measures. How tight should it be?

How tight is too tight? Apple Watch 6 with braided loop band...measured between a 3 and a 4. Bought the 3. When in between sizes, is it better to go with the lower or the higher size? Trying to decide if the 3 is a bit too snug.

is there a way to tighten the fabric watch band for my iwatch? I've had the band for several months. In recent weeks, it seems to fit too loose on my wrist. Short of buying a new band, is there a way to tighten it?

Should be tight enough that when moving your arm the watch does not move around on your wrist as the sensors need to be in contact.
