Is anyone else having trouble with the Apple Watch 6 restarting itself and glitching

Got my new Apple Watch Series 6 and yesterday and today when doing some light swimming it restarted. The white Apple logo shows up for a good while. Both times while swimming. Possibly one additional time when not swimming when I noticed I had to reenter my passcode despite not taking it off my wrist.
Thanks for sharing your experience. Yes, both of our situations are very similar. My Series 4 was the GPS model and my current watch (6) is also the GPS model. I really thought it was my phone but after completely restoring it to factory and then pairing my watch again (both with the latest software updates) the watch started restarting again. For a year and a half, my 4 never restarted until one of the software updates this spring/summer installed and it was never the same after that. My 6, which I am wearing as I type this, has been restarting a few days before I posted my first response and now is still restarting on my wrist. It drains the battery very fast so I will have to put it on the charger within the hour or the battery will be dead. When the watch did work, at least the battery lasted a day and a half. I wanted to buy one for my wife, but I will wait until this issue is fixed.
Same thinking about my phone or watch being defective. My battery is draining super fast too when it reboots too many times. Some days it reboots less and then it’s okay, but not daily. Waiting for an update that would resolve this too! 🤞🏼
My watch has rarely rebooted in past 4 days. I hope it lasts. This is what I did. I noticed that watch reboots more often when it gets notifications. So I unpaired my watch(again), paired it after an hour as NEW watch(not restore from backup). Then I turned off all notifications except the important ones like calls, messages and calendar. I don’t know if it’ll continue working but it’s like a surprise to me that it rarely reboots now. Thank you
I cant believe i just spent 800 dollars on a new apple series 6 watch titanium and it just keeps rebooting. Multiple calls to Apple they just want it sent back. TERRIBLE. They only offer a full refund if under 2 weeks of purchase.
Here is the latest update on my end. I spent the day talking to a Apple Care support team and explained to them what was happening with my Series 6 Apple Watch on Monday (12/07/20. I also told them how it started with my 4 and explained everything that was done in between. They ended up downloading the logs from my phone and watch and they were sending to Apple engineers to figure out what was going on with my watch. My Series 6 is stuck in a constant restart loop then drains the battery. After I charge, the restart loop starts again. They are going to contact me today to let me know what they figured out. I really hope this can be solved with a software update, but it also could be an issue with the hardware. I really miss using my watch and now just sits on the charger. The support person I talked to was really nice and patient and really wants to solve this problem. It does make me sad to think about how much money we have spent on both watches and straps.
I had the same problem with my Series 4. It was recently replaced with the Series 6 and is doing the same thing. Random restarting to the Apple logo. I also updated to 7.2 and it still continues. I had the 4 troubleshooted by many and never found out why or what causes this. So much wasted time with phone calls and mailing it in to be told they can’t duplicate the issue. So disappointed.
They said the same thing to everyone so I gave up after replacement. Here is something that I tried myself and it worked. Try and see if does for you. My watch has rarely rebooted in past several days. I hope it lasts. This is what I did. I noticed that watch reboots more often when it gets notifications, or gets overloaded I guess. So I unpaired my watch(again), paired it after an hour as NEW watch(not restore from backup). Then I “turned off all notifications except the important ones” like calls, messages and calendar. It stopped rebooting. I don’t know if it’ll continue working but it’s like a surprise to me that it doesn’t reboot now. Thank you
I disabled the hand washing notifications (through the watch app on the iPhone), and the restarts stopped. It has been 2.5 months since I disabled the hand washing notification and have had ZERO restarts since then. It 100% solved this issue for me.
I never thought about the hand washing with my Series 6. I did turn off the the screen lock to see if that would stop the constant restart loop but it did not. Apple downloaded logs from my watch and phone last week and their engineers analyzed them. They finally acknowledged that is system wide issue with the Watch OS. They had me take my watch to the Apple Store and they sent it in for a replacement. But I have a feeling the replacement will also restart unfortunately. The senior advisor I talked to said the engineering team is working on a fix but was not sure when it would be released.
Received my replacement Apple Watch Series 6 from FedEx today. I took it to the Apple store two weeks ago and the only course of action they could take was to send it in for diagnostics. They shipped me a replacement watch and I wore it today. Worked great this morning and then this afternoon it started restarting again. It is not a constant loop like the previous one but will randomly restart every few minutes. I don't have the time or patience to spend more time chatting and talking on the phone with Apple Support anymore. Really hope this issue is fixed very soon.
I just turned off all notifications and then restarted both the watch and my phone and no luck. I just talked to Apple Support and I asked for a refund. I will call their customer relations department and request it. They wanted to talk on the phone and do the same troubleshooting steps which I have done several times since this started in August. I just don't want to spend any more time troubleshooting.
So I originally posted stating how that my watch was constantly rebooting. I started to notice that it would reboot specially when I got a notification from my Wyze camera. Once I disable the notification from appearing on my watch too. I have not had the watch reboot. I am not updating to 7.2. I’m currently on 7.1. I unpaired my watch probably two to three weeks ago. I did not restore the backup. Still not acceptable but I got tired of my watch always dying.
I was told I cannot receive a refund. But they did tell me that Apple engineers have acknowledged the restart loop issue with the Series 6. They didn't have a timeframe for a fix. Interesting you mentioned Wyze cameras. We also have Wyze cameras and that is the most frequent notification I receive on my watch. I turned off all notifications, restarted both my phone and watch and then put the watch on the charger as it was restarting. I took it off and the restarting loop continues. I will unpair and repair it again to see what happens. Thanks for the tip!
After I turned off the Wyze Cam notifications three days ago, my watch has not restarted one time. This is the first time since the restart loop first started in August that my watch has worked perfectly. I had wondered if it had to do with notifications previously, but never thought it would be one specific notification. I will post again with another update next week. Hopefully this fix is permanent.
I was having the same issue with My Apple Watch series 4 and I decided to upgrade and bought the series 6 and the issues persisted. I reset the watch several times, but did no work as well.
what I did that helped, I removed all notifications from apps on my iPhone. I left only the notifications I found useful, and then my phone stopped restarting.
I don’t know witch app was causing the glitch, since I turned the notifications off for a lot of unnecessary apps.
it also saved me battery.
I hope this responds helps
