iPhone XR Freeze-Up Issue

Why does my iPhone XR keep freezing up? It either doesn’t do anything when I press an app or it gives me a blank screen (after entering the app) and I can only swipe up to get out of it. I have deleted screens and restarted the phone, which sometimes helps, but not always. The Force Start has worked but I assume it will happen again. HIGHLY annoying! Frankly, it makes me think about trying another company’s smartphone.
