Why won't GarageBand update without Big Sur? My 2013 imac is now unable to update to the latest OS however the app store still had me update iwork apps just fine, garageband however said it needed ios 11 for the update to be installed. this is the first time i have experienced this, i would have expected to be allowed to update all the apps if some of them allowed me to update. can anyone explain why? Can't update Garage Band 10.4.3. I just loaded Big Sur, 11.4 on my MacBook Pro. When I try to open an existing project I get the error message "Sorry, can’t load this project because it is created by a newer GarageBand version. Please update GarageBand!" Now I can't find Garage Band 10.4.3. to update. MacBook Pro thinks all my apps are up to date. Not that smart, eh?

App store says updates available but Pages, Numbers, Keynote updates won't download The app store usually only gives notice about compatible updates, and my Mac is on Mojave and already has versions 8.2 of Pages, Numbers, and Keynote. I click update all, get the little spinning circles, and then....nothing, back to 'update' being offered but not actually updating. So.....what might be blocking downloads when I click 'update all' for these apps to update? I am signed into my AppleID account; my internet connection supported download of microsoft updates earlier today no problem, and Speakeasy shows a little better than average download speed (14 Mbps).

If the applications that need updating are Apple applications that came with the computer, try going to the App Store Purchases tab or click on your profile and then go to Purchases to see if there is an option to accept the applications with your Apple ID. If that doesn't work, you can delete the applications and download them with your Apple ID. The applications are free. You may have to sign out of the App Store, restart the computer, and sign back in to download new copies.
