I got an email stating that someone Named Jade in Chandler Az used my Apple ID to make a game purchase $29

i did not make this purchase nor am I set up for Apple Pay. When I used the link on the email to support suspicious activity it asked me for all my information when it asked me for my SS #. I stopped and decided to contact apple.com instead. The transaction # on the email ***VFH. Thanks for your help

Yes, Tesamae, that was fraudulent!

We’re sorry you gave them any information at all!

Apple does not (generally) put phone numbers or links in correspondence.

You should change your Apple ID password immediately, if you haven’t already!

Never use links or phone numbers within emails or texts that claim to be from any of your financial institutions of any business you deal with!

Only contact such through your usual, trusted means, whether by websites you know and trust, or trusted phone numbers!

(I have seen times when my bank put a phone number in an email to me. I did not use it! I went to my trusted source to get the actual contact number, which turned out to match the number they gave. Then I dialed it myself!)
