Software update for IPad

I have new software for my IPad, but I do not have ITunes on my Mac. How can I download when I am being told I do not have enough space on my IPad?

On a Mac running macOS Catalina you use Finder instead of iTunes to update an iOS device. See the Computer section of Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
