I was using Vmware Fusion. When it was installed, there was a virtual hard-drive created that is labeled Macintosh HD Fusion and it shows that 120.65 GB were allocated from my Macintosh HD. I have deleted the Fusion program and now I want to delete the virtual hard-drive and restore the 120.65 GB to the Macintosh HD. Can you help me with this?

judging by the above screen grab, "hd fusion" appears almost empty.(222MB) as far as the desktop icon, this is just a guess, but go to your finder preferences and see if "Hard disks" under the "General" tab is checked. if it is, uncheck it and the icon will disappear.

The virtual drive is just a file named Macintosh HD Fusion. You can delete it as you would any other file.

No, an icon is an icon. You need to delete the file the icon links to.
Delete the file and see.
What happens when you delete any file? You've been told several times, it is a file. Delete the file. Files take up space. When a file is deleted they no longer take up space.
Just as with any file, you have to empty the trash bin if you don't want the file in the trash to take up space.
Control click on the icon, then choose, "Show Original."
What you have is not a simple VM file but a physical drive partition.
Please open Disk Utility and post a screen shot of what is shown.
Make sure Disk Utility is set to show all devices.
