My Tascam gb-10 says connected but my Mac Pro does not see it

From the operating manual:

The only other advice I can offer would be to do what I would do in this situation -

Power off and unplug the Mac.

Unplug any peripheral devices.

Power off and unplug (remove batteries) the gb-10.

Let everything sit for 10 minutes.

Reconnect the keyboard and mouse to the Mac, power it on.

Power up and start up the gb-10.

Connect the gb-10 directly to a usb port on the mac.

If all is well, power off and reconnect everything else.

Maybe someone else has better ideas.

The USB connection to a computer is used to transfer files between the Tascam's storage and the Mac.

Do you have an SD memory card installed in the Tascam? If not, the Tascam storage will not be seen using the Finder.

When you connect the USB cable does the USB Select pop up appear?

Are you selecting Storage?

Are you connecting the device via a USB hub or directly to the Mac?

If you go to Finder > Finder Preferences, is External Disks checked?
