Glitching after newest update to 14.1

Restore the phone from backup.

Nvm my phone was too full😅

Something could have gone wrong during the update. In such a situation, I would install a fresh copy of the latest iOS version.

But this (although this is not to your liking) means that you have to perform this procedure:--> Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings – Apple Support

I had no problems installing 14.0. No misbehavior of any device. I figured 14.1 would be a small fix, and it is causing lag on every screen, freezing up requiring hard reset, and it is infuriating. I have never had a problem with any previous apple product. And my phone (though older model) was running PERFECTLY prior to any of these updates, same for all our other devices. I hate that every time there is an update, it is optimized for the newest models and causes issues in the older ones, or just unexpected behavior that we have to mitigate to restore a perfectly working phone back to itself. Planned obsolescence, of course! I can't complain because the android users say switch to a better platform and the apple users says just get a new phone. I don't want a new phone! My phone is (WAS) perfect and I don't need one, or didn't until this crap 14.1.

My daughter's phone needed to be factory reset during failed install of 14.1 Then it said it couldn't restore from backup because latest backup was in 2018, which is BS. I backed it up before 14.0... but the backup wasn't found in the cloud. I guess that's what I get for trusting that apple's cloud backup would be flawless. So all her text messages are gone, and who knows if the photos can be found on the cloud?!

Prior to this, I could literally go months without needing to restart my device; and now I need to restart it every few hours. Way to improve, apple!

Same, every few hours it gets worse until I reset. I just went to my home screen and it didn't have any icon for the apps, they were just empty and when I tried to open them it just turns off to the rotating loading thing then returns me to the lock screen, it stopped doing this when I restarted but still some apps don't have icons and when I try to open “Tiktok” it just resets like I haven’t opened the app and snapchat is just slow, messages don’t show up for several seconds sometimes it doesn’t show that people are typing, heck a lot of times it doesn’t even show their bitmoji. I don’t know if it’s my phone (Iphone X) which is a little buggy but not like after I installed ios 14.1

I have the SE which is in-between the 5 and 6 and I updated to the IOS 14 update, and it just continually restarts. I wiped the phone to restore it to uninstall the update and I can't even get through the process to restore it without it restarting.

I’ve had problems too unfortunately. Ive had problems with 3 updates this year; it’s seems after every update including 14 makes my phone glitch and stuck on restore/recovery mode. (It’s currently stuck once again)

The last time this happened I was told I had no choice but to factory reset it, HOWEVER my phone ended up going back to normal two weeks later.

You could try and wait it out, but it’s totally up to you. If you find any solutions, would totally love to know how to bring our phones back to normal lol.

mind you. My phone was less than a year old when the update problems started occurring :/

I've had issues after updates in past, but none like this! Calls are dropped and apps freezing up. This update loaded automatically and it has rendered my phone useless. I have never been so unhappy with Apple and don't know how to get help. Makes it really hard during Covid to know what to do. Any suggestions?

Since updating my phone my text messages are glitching. Takes forever to open them sometime 30 minutes before they will open.

Every since the new software update all my incoming calls are coming in unknown. I did a remastered reset still getting the same issues

Since the recent update, my phone still keeps freezing up, can’t open apps etc. come on apple. Get it right

I am having same issues with the message app. I cannot send messages. It gets stuck and sometime restart doesn't fix it. Before the 14.1 update, I rarely restarted the phone.

I'm having the exact same issue. It's driving me nuts.

Probably reseting and restoring from a back up. You might also define “glitches” in a little more detail.
