How do I delete users in TV

Since the latest update I've noticed two users have appeared in addition to my own profile. They are named as <my name> (1) and <my name> (2).


When I go into these accounts to try to delete them, I get a message on screen that says "<my name> (1) is part of this Apple TV's home. To remove <my name> (1) from this Apple TV, remove them from the home or change their settings using the Home app on iOS."


So, does anyone know what this refers to? I've been though the iPhone Home app and can't find anything, and I can't see what it's referring to when it says remove them from the home.

Thanks for the quick reply. I appreciate that unless you've got the same problem you won't have realised, but that's what I found and what I tried, which took me to the message above. So, Apple TV won't let me delete the accounts from that setting and is trying to send me somewhere else.


I've tried a couple of other things that it might have been helpful for me to mention:

  1. In Apple TV, held the Home button until control centre appears. The two extra users appear there but there is not an option to delete them
  2. In the Home app on iPhone, I touch the home symbol in top left corner then choose Home Settings. In there are "people" and I would expect to see the two extra users but instead there is only one......the one I want to keep!
