Deleting apps not working?

I click "remove app" after pressing down on an app on my home screen. Nothing happens. The app icon remains on the screen but will not respond when I press it. According to settings, the app no longer exists. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

I can stack an app on top it but can not move it or remove it. i tried to reinstall and then delete again but nothing. Its stuck in the same spot. Any suggestions?

cannot remove any app Deleting apps by the method advised does not work. When I press the app it jiggles but no x sign appears in the left hand side of the app and the app cannot be deleted.

Restart your iPhone. Install the latest iOS update 14.0.1
