You're not speaking with Apple. This is a user to user only forum. Sometimes after an update, it is possible some settings get altered. All you have to do is go to Settings > Messages > And make sure SMS/MMS is still turned on.

After EVERY iOS update, I personally do a forced restart, which would likely prevent such minor settings changes if you did the same.

Actually, you can't turn SMS on or off from the phone, that can only be done by the carrier. Settings>Messages>Send as SMS only affects what happens if an iMessages fails to send. The explanation in teeny, tiny, must have your reading glasses on print.

Yup. And that means, if your iMessage fails, it will try to re-send it as SMS. You can do the test yourself. Turn that to off and send and SMS message.

Or the person who design update can be more attention to do NOT play with other people settings.

Some people try to do business here, and I don't care about what I should do! But Apple should, for sure, be more attentive to the uploads and stop approving stupidity.

I give my feedback, and I do not want my future IOS updates to change my settings.

Once again, the problem appears to be your carrier settings. Talk to them.
