Apple Maps does not "speak" directions

Maps only chime and does not “speak” directions. It only talks when I tap the phone, I want it to talk not chime is there a new setting?

From your post we understand that Maps isn't speaking the directions for you. Take a look at the following resource to change those settings: Change audio settings for turn-by-turn directions in Maps on iPhone
