New Apple Watch 6

I have an Apple Watch 6 series and if I leave my home, I continue to get the red phone with a line across and stop receiving notifications. Why? I do not have the cellular model but I would think I should still get my text messages on watch. As long as it’s connected to my iPhone.

Your watch has to be in bluetooth range of the phone which means you have to have the phone with you.

Where Bluetooth range is 30-60 feet (10-20 meters), where the longer distance assumes ideal conditions.
