Watch series 4 won’t update from watchOS 5 to the watch OS 7

Hello,

I’ve been trying to update my watch because I haven’t used it in a while but when I try to pair my watch to my phone it says I need an update. When it’s loading for an update it says that the watch already has the latest update and says WatchOS 5.2.8 which I know is not the latest update. I’ve tried to turn the watch off and my phone off. I have the latest update on my phone 14.0.1. I’ve reset the watch completely. It won’t give me an option to move on even when it says it’s been updated to the latest (5.2.8). Any other suggestions?

Thanks for that info and for choosing the Apple Support Communities. If we understand correctly, you are unable to update your Apple Watch, even after trying some good steps. To help with this, please make sure your iPhone and Apple Watch are on a compatible Wi-Fi network and are not connected to a VPN, that the date and time on your iPhone is correct, and also go on your iPhone to Settings > General > iPhone Storage and if you see an Apple Watch update, delete that and start the update process again:

If you can’t change the time or time zone on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch

About Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and cellular on your Apple Watch
