Changed Admin name and lost all files

I reset the Admin name, restarted the computer and lost everything seemingly.

Please can you tell me how to get back all my files, documents, contacts etc.!!!

Please give clear instructions and thank you in advance

Q: How do you safely restore an Admin's original Account name & Home directory? (w/ two admins) On Apple M1 iMac, macOS Monterey: Admin2 renamed Admin1's User Account name and Home directory. Admin1 can log in to renamed_Admin1 using old PW. But everything is gone and Admin1 has lost direct access to their original files and cannot restore open tabs on Chrome and Safari. Admin1's original downloads and files can still be found on /Users under the original Admin1 username. How can Admin2 to (safely) change back Admin1's Account Name and Home directory?) (to ask differently: how can Admin1 (safely) regain access to the original open tabs, files, folders, etc?)

Changing home directory wiped previous account? I updated the user name in the “Home directory” field. Changed that name to match the new name of the home folder, but removed /Users/. For example, if “User name” is johnappleseed, then “Home directory” should be /Users/johnappleseed. But mine was just johnappleseed. I was prompted to restart my computer, and when I did everything was wiped out and all my files are gone. is there anyone who could help me restore my files?
