Any WiFi router that has MAC filter enabled may not accept the “Private” MAC address feature of the new feature added in iOS 14.0.1 to each WiFi profile saved. Turning off the private Mac Address on the specific WiFi profile may allow your device to connect.
Another issue is it connects fine but moments later it prompts for password on a saved profile. Turning off “wifi assist” in Cellular settings (absolute bottom of the list) will allow the device to remain connected on weaker range areas of this wifi profile.
I suspect the failing over to WiFi profile flip flopping is triggering a false positive on the algorithm that the wifi profile saved is incorrect and thus asks for a re-authentication.
This is indeed the topic here :)
Has anyone tried to reset their entire phone and it work..?
Yes. That was the only thing that helped for me (see my entry above starting with “SOLVED”).
Oh ! Even nicer ! ....
For some reason, this worked wonders! Wifi is stable
Yeah! Even for me, same stress and same times! If well done, the "Hard reset" operation is really laborious and endless.
But it's true that it's also an opportunity for a nice cleaning...
It is OFF for me and problem remains....
Sooooo normal, I must admit ! :\
My car is defective, then let's rebuild the streets and city.
14.0.1 has issues Apple does not seem to worry about!!!
Apple, please help the millions of Apple users and supporters, PLEASE, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!
Same for my Wifes iPhone 11 Pro and my iPhone X after the 14.0 / 14.0.1 wifi is connected but internet doesnt work. All other devices on my wifi network are working fine.
Awesome. You saved my life here. Thanks
No more VPN here after a complete iPhone reset led by Apple support, and issue remains.
I am amazed the Apple community dose not what you recommended, but how many people can waste hours a day waiting on the phone.
Its like shouting to a mute.
That’s my point! :) Indeed, screaming here in the forum is exactly screaming to a mule.
You’re exactly right. Apple takes no responsibility for their own lack of knowledge on the technology that you’re trying to improve.
