iOS 14 and iOS 14.0.1 Sound Issues

Ever since updating to iOS 14 and iOS 14.0.1, I’ve had sound issues with the iPhone 11 Pro. Sound volume is extremely low for calls on speakerphone, watching YouTube videos, and listening to music.

Has anyone else experienced these issues?

iPhone 6, iOS 12

The Apple rep first had me plug my phone into a pc then update my iTunes software then press the volume up button release then press the volume down button release. Then press the power button and hold it down until the phone rebooted to the Apple.

then I went on iTunes it should have a message pop up that says downloading I’m not sure what but it took about 25-30 minutes it looks like it’s just sitting there but if it says downloading your good. Once completed it asked you to pick a date to restore to I went back to before the update. Once it finished I setup my phone up like new but all my info came back and the sound is working weird thing is the software is the update. Good luck

Going on 3rd week of an iPhone 8 with loss of sound due to 14.0.1 iOS update.  Chatted online with Apple and rep. stated hardware was functioning properly but made me an appt. with the Genius Bar (GB) 1 week later since she could not test the sound online.  In the meantime, I tried all mentioned fixes on this thread and other online remedies to no avail. My 1.5-hour appt. with the Genius Bar came and went without a fix because GB stated that it was a hardware problem.  They returned my iPhone back to factory settings with my iCloud backup.  GB asked if the phone had been dropped or in water which was negative.  My iPhone has “lived” in an Otterbox Defender case since I bought it 14 months ago.  Being that I was out of the 1year warranty and I did not have the AppleCare plan, GB offered me $100 for my iPhone 8 and in turn would sell me the SE for $350.  I did not agree to either offer.  Apple needs to remedy this 14.0.1 error or let the consumer revert back to a previous iOS that does work.

I'm having the issue where I can barely hear calls now since the last update (14.0.1) The phone has also been lagging with the text where you type and nothing happens for a few seconds, then It catches up. It's also started moving slowly transitioning between apps. The biggest issue is the sound though. Nothing I've done in the settings has changed it. It's not a hardware problem because when I tested the receiver speaker ( by moving the audio/visual balance setting all the way to the right and then playing my ring tone) it comes in very loud and clear. It's only calls that can't be heard.

Can someone in apple please fix this bug?

Just updated my SX Max to firmware 14.1 and my problem persists. People hear me clearly but I can hear almost nothing. This has to be a firmware malfunction since I also upgraded my 8 Plus and had no problem whatsoever.

I cannot stop to think: IS THIS A APPLE FORUM? DOES ANYONE FROM APPLE READS ITS COSTUMERS COMPLAINS? I STAYED QUIET WAITING FOR THE NEW SOFTWARE BUT NOW I HAD ENOUGH! I CANNOT HAVE A 1600+ EUROS PHONE WITHOUT LISTENING LOUD AND CLEAR AS IT HAPPENS ON MY 8 PLUS!

iPhone 12pro I use ITunes and Bluetooth to my motorcycle speakers. IOS 14.2 I have the volume maxed out and cannot hear my music above 35 MPH. Last year my IPhone X iOS11 was waaay louder. Guess I have to get an Android to hear my music when riding as it seems that Apple has done this on purpose. Ready to throw this phone in the trash can!
