lsd process keeps crashing

Hello ! I have a small issue that is affecting the performances and autonomy of my macbook pro 13" mid-2012 on OSX Catalina.

In the activity monitor I've noticed lsd and reportcrash processes eating up between 20 and 99% of processing power, which results in the battery life being halved. Kinda troublesome...

I've then opened the console, only to witness a flood of lsd crashes happening almost every 5 seconds. And when I look into the crash logs of my machine, there are indeed numerous crash reports of the lsd process, which content exceed my knowledge about computer programming.

Can anyone help me find out what the problem is about ? I was unable to find the answer in existing posts.

I tried deleting the $TEMPFILE (C), from a similar lsd problem, but no luck with that.

Here is the latest crash report, they're basically all the same with different time in the title...

Try rebuilding the Launch Services database. Open the Terminal in the Utilities folder. Paste the following entire command line into the Terminal window, then press Return. Wait for the prompt to return before quitting Terminal.

/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain local -domain system -domain user

No, but a guess is that something has gone haywire. You might try

Boot Into Safe Mode

If your Mac isn’t already shut down, then shut it down and wait at least 30 seconds before rebooting.
Immediately, at or before the chime, press and hold down the SHIFT key.
Release the key after the Apple logo and progress bar appear.
Safe mode startup is much slower than normal startup, so be patient.
When the Login Screen appears enter your admin password. If you use automatic login, then this means you are in safe mode.

Hello. Thanks for your reply.

Already tried it after seeing this possible solution on another post. Tried it again, but I still have tons of errors in the system logs, and CrashReport process keeps poping in the activity monitor and taking processing power.
