Can't play my newly purchased music on iphone cuz of circle of dots

I just bought some music on itunes store. I can play the music on my PC but when I drag it over to my iphone it shows up in gray with a circle of dots to the left of the song name. The other suggestions say to delete all music and start over again. That is not an option. Is there some way to get this to work? Do I have to buy the album a second time? As for a refund?
