Emails sending from alias instead of default mail email address

Yesterday I noticed that when I compose an email on my iPhone X that it is sending from an alias I have. My default is my main name@me account, and when composing it clearly shows I am composing using that email address, however as soon as I receive it, it comes in as from my alias email name.

Then I sent another email from the alias email address, and it was shown as coming from my MAIN (default) name@me email address. Is this a glitch? I definitely have it set up with my main as the default, and in composing it shows that correct main/default address.

when I log into icloud.com, my default there is also my main myname@me.com, and send from has ticks as well for my alias's, and the shaded main default myname@me.com. It all looks perfect. I was on a chat with Apple but I got disconnected from them twice.

The SEND FROM box should only allow a single selection. Choose the desired FROM address. The iOS Mail App will recognize this within minutes.

For at least 14 years I have been set up this way, it hasn't changed at all, except all of a sudden my emails, even though it sends from my main, and default, account, it now is being delivered from a random alias account of mine. The point is it is no longer working as designed, and following Apple's directions and information, it does not perform as directed.

You have a default account to send from (within my Mac laptop, iPad, iphone and icloud) and they are all set to myname@me.com, and it is also set up in mail settings to "ALLOW SENDING FROM..." my 2 alias email addresses as well. It should not randomly choose an alias to send from.

your screen shot above is for selected a default "from" email address. Yes, my default email is set to only one, myname@me.com

If you want a solution, I will try to help. This can be done via icloud.com.

If you want to debate Apple history, I am out. Your choice.

Then it stands to reason if you used that address to reply to an email, the sender would also see that address as well and not an alias which you didn't use to reply to that email as you suggested here....

Thanks zinacef. It's still happening, but I think it may only be for a new composed message. When I reply to an email, it is received with my main default myname@me.com, not the alias. I wonder if it's just a glitch of the new update, and might correct itself.
