No sound on calls for iPhone 7

Sound does work on calls on my iPhone 7, speaker button greyed out, no sound when I record a video, all other sound works fine. I’ve reset several times and it doesn’t fix it.

iPhone 7, iOS 14

Hey Knbates5,

It sounds like your iPhone 7 speaker isn't working during calls, is greyed out, and you can't record sounds while attempting to create a video. We've got your back!

First, we'd check the Voice over LTE (VoLTE) in Settings > Cellular Data Options and 'Voice & Data' is set to 'Data Only'. Then test it out. If that resolves it, we'd recommend to contact your wireless carrier for further steps.

Then we'd suggest the following:

  1. Make sure the ringer switch is set to ring.
  2. Go to Settings > Accessibility > Audio/Visual and slide the audio volume balance slider all the way to the right. Then test.
  3. Try to play a ringtone in Settings > Sound & Haptics. Tap a ringtone to test. Does it play from the speaker? (Note: Test iPhone 6s and earlier by listening to the speakers at the bottom of the device.)

If it persists, we'd check if FaceTime audio calls work. If they have the same behavior, then we'd recommend to Contact Apple Support

If this does have the same behavior, then we'd recommend contacting your wireless carrier for further steps.

Hope this solves it for you, take care!
