Apple pay features

I’m using a iphone 8. When i choose apple pay i am required to pay using passcode. is there an option for touch id instead of passcode?

Assistive Touch and Apple Pay How do I use Apple Pay with only double clicking the lock button? When you go to settings>Touch ID & passcode do you see the option there?
