Has anyone else experienced significant delays in texting since updating to ios14? I will start to text several words and it’s as if the messaging app freezes and none of the words appear for a few seconds, then they all appear at once.

Go to settings and pull down on the screen to show the search bar. Type “network” and you should see “reset network settings.” Select that and then select “reset network settings” again. It will ask for your passcode and want you to confirm that is what you want to do. It will restart your phone. Once it restarts, your settings have been reset.

Have you reset your network settings?
Go to Settings - General - Reset -Reset Network Settings.
This also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you've used before.
Spoke with Apple Support. Known issue for some with iOS14.
iOS 14.0.1 is supposed to fix it but I'm on 14.0.1.
Suggestion was to do a full phone backup, OS reset and restore via iTunes, which for the person I 'spoke' with, happened to them also and was fixed with the reset and restore.

toggling iMessage off and back on seems to fix the issue. Not sure if it’s just a temporary fix or not though like resetting the network settings but it fixed the delay issue for me (see below)
Try to reset your network settings. It also happened to me and after doing resetting the network settings, a week worth of iMessages arrived. I thought no one was messaging me!

have you update to iOS 14.1 ? this update solves the problems.
Reset your keyboard dictionary. Settings > General > reset > keyboard dictionary. This worked for me!
I had the same slow, frozen texting and email typing. Did the Settings, General, Reset trick. It worked!! Just have to renter my WiFi password.

Ok. Then try this:
settings-messages- turn it off for a few seconds, then back on.
do the same for the FaceTime.
settings-FaceTime- Turn off few seconds, then on.
then restart phone, and see if this fixes it.
I updated to 14.02 and it fixed the problem for me!
Had this issue and reset my network setting as others advised and seems to have fixed my problem.

I have also experience this issue and find it quite frustrating. I've not had a chance to speak to the IT guy, but I'm sure it's an issue with the update itself. Hopefully, they get it resolved soon.
UPDATE: I did what was suggested by another person and reset the network settings. It already seems to be working smoother. Praise the Lord!
