Disabled iPad?

Hi, I have an model a1600 that I stopped using years ago because I didn't have an iTunes. I cannot unlock the iPad because it is disabled and whenever I hook it up to my laptop and iTunes, it won't do anything. What should I do?

Did you follow these instructions?

If you forgot the passcode on your iPad, or your iPad is disabled - Apple Support
