hi
i have a thunderbolt display which stopped working with my MacBook air mid 2011 model. the monitor works fine (with apple thunderbolt adaptor 2 to 3) with my hp elitebook for work but my MacBook air does not detect the monitor anymore. I can connect to tv from thunderbolt to hdmi. done all the sac and cram resets still no joy. running high sierra 10.13.6

should read SMC and VRAM
Option-click the at the top-left of the screen and select "System Information". See if the display shows in the Graphics/Displays or Thunderbolt sections.

it does not appear under graphics/displays or thunderbolt sections
running 8.1 firmware and
2.13 micro port
Does anything show in the Thunderbolt section? Maybe the Thunderbolt circuitry has failed. Mini DisplayPort can continue working, which would explain the HDMI adapter still working.
I don’t have another thunderbolt device to check unfortunately. Thanks again for you help.
Is the Thunderbolt plug pushed in all the way (no metal showing)?
Yes plugged all the way in with a small
amount of metal showing
Still no joy if anyone else can solve this problem I would be greatly appreciated
