Podcasts not syncing to Apple Watch after OS7 update

I have a series 5 watch and since the OS7 update (now 7.0.1) podcasts have stopped syncing from my phone.

I’ve tried all the usual settings ensuring podcast syncing is on and trying both “Up Next” and “Custom” but they no longer sync when I put the devices on to charge. The watch just says No Episodes which is even more as the ones that were already there are seemingly deleted.

Has anyone else experienced this and/or have any advice?

We can see that your settings are correct for this feature. Of the actions you've done so far, have you also tried unpairing and repairing your watch and iPhone? If not, that would be the next recommendation.

Unpair and erase your Apple Watch

If you continue to run into issues once you've set up your watch again, you might want to touch base with Apple Support for additional help, at Get Support.

Thanks for your reply. I tried unpairing and repairing my watch but this didn't work.

I have now managed to fix the issue by following instructions in a separate post regarding the Splits function disappearing from activity. Unfortunately this involved backing up my iPhone and then completely wiping it and restoring from the backup, which is a far from ideal solution.
