I purchased an Apple USB-C to USB adapter online along with my new MacBook Air. I have found that none of my USB cables fit into the USB end of the adapter. Is the adapter defective? Do I need to force it? P.S. Please don't insult me by suggesting I am doing it upside down.

For some reason Apple USB adapters are always a tight fit. Push hard.
Thank you. It felt like I was going to break it, but I shoved it hard and it worked. And it's getting easier each time I do it. Sorry about the PS that sounded rude. I found previous posts about the same issue and most answers were to turn it around. It looks like many people are having this problem.
