Unable to use Wallet

Wallet app won’t open on iPhone XR, either through the app or double click. When I open up the wallet in settings it takes a couple or minutes to open and won’t allow me to add cards. I used to use the app regularly and it suddenly stopped working a month or so ago. The phone has all of the latest updates. Not sure why it stopped working and not sure why it says I have a limit of zero cards.
