Why does my iPhone use camera when I unlock it?

After the new 14.0 update I’ve noticed that often when I unlock my iPhone, a green dot will appear for a second telling me that my camera is in use.

Hey there kyrww,

We understand you have a question about your iPhone showing a green dot after unlocking, and we'd like to see if we can assist.

Check out this section from the following resource: Control access to hardware features on iPhone

"Whenever an app uses the camera (including when the camera and microphone are used together), a green indicator appears. Also, a message appears at the top of Control Center to inform you when an app has recently used either."

Here's how to get to Control Center: Access and customize Control Center on your iPhone and iPod touch

Cheers!
