Adding a second monitor to my iMac

My wife and I share an iMac (2015, 21.5") using separate log-ins. She uses it most and I'm left using an iPad for most of my work. I'm wondering if there's a way that we can add another monitor that will allow both of us to to be on-line at the same time?

While you can connect an external display you cannot have 2 (or more) users using the computer simultaneously. You will either need to buy your own iMac or continue using the iPad. Perhaps an iPad Pro is something you want to consider.
