How do I lock my screen on iPhone?

If you are using the iCloud Backup Now option you don't need to lock the screen.


If you want the iPhone to backup automatically while charging and connected to the internet, the screen does need to be locked. You can do that via the button on the right side or you can do what I do -- let it lock itself automatically based on the time selected in Settings > Display & Brightness > Auto-Lock.
