Ios 14 fast charging not working

You can report directly to Apple feeeback or maybe you can try to email one of the rumor websites like Macrumors or 9to5Mac. I usually see discussion there about bugs, but I haven’t seen anyone talk about this specific one.

I am not getting the double chime but my phone is fast charging because I can feel it warmer than normal charging and also the speed at which it charges.

i have timed it, it takes 20 seconds to charge a 1% which is 3% a minute when it is below 50%

I am using iPhone X and IKEA 40 watts charger

I’ve got this out there on another thread, where my phone is charging fine at home but in the car if I don’t plug it in before I start the car it won’t charge the car doesn’t even recognize the phone unless it’s plugged in before you start if you start the car and plug it in it doesn’t even know the phone is there and it doesn’t charge and even if you shut the car off you’ve got to open the doors shut the doors and start the car again before it recognizes the phone and starts charging again. Is Apple aware of this problem this is definitely since the 14 iOS I’ve got the 8+ iPhone. I’m glad I’m able to charge at home but I’ve noticed the battery does go down quite quickly anymore too!

I have a 30w fast charger and after the update, it did not give me “double chime” when plugged in and I could sail around the world in as long as it takes to fully charge. I paid $55 for this charger only 5 months ago and now it’s as useless as tits on a bull.

I submitted this feedback as well since I too am experiencing this issue. I have two iPhones, one on iOS 13 and one on iOS14. I can fast charge on iOS 13 but I do not get the double beep for iOS14. Thanks for posting the link.

I was having this issue too after the update. I turned off Optimized Battery Charging in the Battery settings and now it charges fast again. If it wasn't already on, I'm guessing the IOS 14 update either turned this option on automatically or, if it was on, reset my previous charge data and caused it to slow down.

This seems to at least force charging again! Thank you for the tip. I'm going to do some testing...

Well I was hoping that this was part of the problem that was causing my phone not to charge in the car unless it was all plugged in the car was off and then started but I just went and turned off the battery optimize and started my car and then plug my phone in and nothing I had to shut the car off plug it in then start the car so I’m not sure what changed it’s not my car because there’s been no update or anything in there

You figured they would address this problem already, I mean do they not read this community at all and figure it out?

I don’t know what to do, I don’t know if my 20w adapter is defective, i don’t know if the magsafe is defective, I have never experienced fast charging on my iphone 12 pro only like once or twice, my magsafe is overheating my AirPods Pro case, I am at loss here really.

Update : 11/7/2020:

I originally thought the suggestion from earlier to turn off optimized battery charging worked but I was mistaken. I'm still not getting any charging for more than 30 seconds to a minute. Back to square 1.

The problem I had before this 14.2 update once my car was started my phone was not recognized now that I’ve updated it’s resolve the problem so it’s working for me and I’ve tried it with the optimize on & the optimize off I turned the optimize back on. Hopefully the rest of you get the other problems you’ve got fixed.

The very same thing happens with my iPhone se 2. The charging, when I use 18 Watt fast charger , stays on for 20 to 30 seconds and then disappears. Maybe a software issue. Hopefully Apple will look into this. Very frustrating. No issues when using 5 Watt charger.

I have an iphone 11, when I first updated to ios 14.2 my usb-c Pd charger doesn't chime twice tho I notice the charging thunder on the battery blinks twice and it charges fast.. But now I dont get any double blink and I cant seem to charge fast even from 0-50% takes 1hr+

Have the same issue with SE 2020 w/iOS 14.3 on two different Apple 18W PD chargers since upgrading to iOS 14. It "charges" for about 30 seconds then stops charging.

Apple is sleeping at the wheel again with testing and fixing this in a timely manner.

Don't waste your money on 18W PD chargers until Apple gets around to fixing this.

I have an iPhone 11, I have 3 Apple certified type c to lightening cables one aftermarket type c charging block and my iPad Pro fast black and no combination will work for fast charging since update in November.

I contact Apple support they sent me a brand new iPhone 11 and even the new one won’t fast charge.

Apple has no idea what’s going on, I’m in the phone with support as I type this and they are confused as to why it’s not working.
