I’ve had the exact same experience. Seems like it started when I updated iOS about 6 weeks ago. Happens with ESPN and a few other websites. And only work around - which is painful - is to clear browsing history and cookies in settings/safari.

when I open the ESPN app and go to the “scores” tab it will not load. Just spins and spins. If I restart the phone it will work for a day or so then quits. I have to reboot my phone daily.
