iPhone 11 adapters not working

I have by now tried 3 iPhone 11 adapters so I could connect a 3.5 mm audio jack to my iphone at the same time I was charging the phone. All of them had the same problem: I was able to hear Pandora music and Whatsapp audio messages with no problem, but I could NOT hear regular iPhone voice messages on my headphones??

I finally got a Belkin adapter that seems to work with all of the apps.

Has anybody had this problem?.... any solutions?
