Activity app does not record route map for outdoor cycling

I have been using Apple Watch regularly for multiple fitness workouts. When I do outdoor cycling, the watch fails to record the map/route. The distance and all other parameters are recorded. But the map/route is not showing any data.

it’s very annoying as I bought the watch specifically for workout recording and now I am seriously into cycling and not getting the necessary info. Please help.
