Search bar missing on iPhone

Downloaded the ios14. I’m a bit of a clod and tend not to use all the new functions, however I find the “swipe down” to receive the search bar super helpful. Now i get a blurry screen and have to hit the home key to return to my main screen.

I had the same problem, but have solved it. What I had vainly tried doing was *swiping down from the MIDDLE of the TOP, but what they say is to swipe down from the very CENTER of the home screen. It is rather tricky, isn't it? I hope this will help you.

It is “broken”...maybe not for you but for other people...it is. I use this feature to get to just about every app and it is VERY inconvenient. The swipe down search bar also kept about 8 apps that I use or search most frequently right there under the search bar.

swiping to get the the “left” search bar also gives me the same blurry screen once I tap the search bar...so this is a major issue for me. I have two search bars not working. This needs to be fixed.

Mine is still having this problem Apple has really outdone itself and lameness again very sad that it has tanked so badly. I can’t delete from my iPad using the delete key in my mail anymore which is quite a pain and now I can’t search on this particular iPhone by swiping down I can still do it on my 6+ which often times I use more often because this one is really a downgrade from the 6S plus very sad.

Well, I think the issue is that some people are having a problem with the search feature not working as it is supposed to. When someone comes to this forum, they are having a problem and looking for a way to fix it.

Just because you are not experiencing the same problem doesn’t mean there is nothing to fix.

It’s fortunate for you that you have no problem with this feature, but let’s not operate here with the assumption that your experience is the only one. Because, as is obvious here, multiple people have come searching for a solution. Now I’m here months after the discussion started because I just started having this problem.

My phone is updated. I don’t know what you mean by not launching the search function correctly because there are only the ways given to users by the program. As for me, I didn’t change anything about how I accessed the function front before the problem to after. Are you implying that I broke the phone, or that iOS requires specific learning? Those are silly thoughts that I’m sure you didn’t mean to imply.

And as for the original problem, someone else in this discussion posted an actual solution that worked for, other than user error or restarting the phone in hopes that will solves it.

Thanks for the input anyway!

Hello ATHahn,

No, there is not a way to pin my response.

Only the person who posted the question can mark a response solved.

Apple can also come along and mark a response Apple Recommended, but none of us users have any control of that.. and if they were going to, they most likely would have done so already.

If my suggestion worked for you, I'm certainly glad to hear it!
